Peewee AA Angels Crush CoMo Hopes

DSC02952On Wednesday night, the Peewee AA Angels took one step closer to the Provincial Championships with a 8-2 victory at home over Coquitlam Moody.  The squad has been built with a team-first philosophy and when the team has been successful they have taken that approach in they way they play. Head Coach Rob Senft has been constantly reinforcing to his troops that idea that this team will only go as far as hard work, attitude, hustle, focus and team work will take them. This not a team built around a handful of stars, rather it relies on the contributions of all 12 players.  Wednesday night was no exception, as the hits came scattered throughout the lineup to produce the 8 runs against CoMo. Defensively, a strong team effort rallied behind the starter, right hander Kevin Kim, and the closer, lefty Conall Sexton.  The win eliminated CoMo from the provincials and put the Angels into the driver’s seat for securing a provincial tournament spot. The boys play their last home game of the year on Saturday, at Noon at Berry Park against PoCo. Then they finish the schedule with the long road trip to the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.
