Bantam AAA Elimination Tournament

BantamAAAAfter 3 days at the BC Baseball Bantam AAA Elimination Tournament, the Abbotsford Angels are undefeated with a 4-0 record. On Sunday morning they will be in the Semifinals against an opponent TBA.

The Angels finished atop their pool with wins over Burnaby, White Rock, Nanaimo and Victoria. The win today over the Eagles was a nail biter, a 3-2 victory with Kaiden Cardoso getting the win and Kyle Stewart the save.

The team started strong to open the tournament, taking down Burnaby by a 8-0 victory.  Carter Harbut went 6 and 2/3 innings for the shutout win. Dayton Peters and Kyle Stewart led a strong Angels attack.

In game 2, the Angels fell behind the White Rock Tritons and struggled to get the bats going early on. Starting pitcher Travis McDougall didn’t panic, and just kept on pitching well, giving the Angels the chance to come back. The team took that chance, with a double for Dayton Peters the exclamation point on the Angels rally to take the lead.
White Rock managed to tie it up to force extra innings, but the Angels responded again to re-take the lead. Conall Sexton then closed it out and take the all important win.

Game 3 saw the Angels and Nanaimo square off.  Seth Hebeler and Dallas Teichroeb combined for the 7-3 win over the Pirates. The game was close but a double from Sexton seemed to change the momentum and the boys then sealed the win.

With 4 wins in the bank and 1st in their pool locked up, the Angels now wait to find out who they will face in tomorrow morning’s Semifinal.
