Angels Open Rehaume Tournament With Win

PeeweeAThe Angels Peewee A opened their season last night with a 6-5 nailbiting win over Chilliwack in their first game of the Ridge Meadows Noel Rehaume Invitiational Tournament.  Chilliwack opened the game scoring 5 runs in the first inning.  Abbotsford answered back with 4 runs in the second.  The game remained 5-4 until the bottom of the 6th when Abby’s bats came alive.   Sam Jones worked his way on with a nice hit to left field followed by a hit by Jayden Burga to centre field.  Josh Wiens drove in Jayden Burga for the tying run with an RBI to left field.  Sam Brittain scored the winning run stealing home after a dropped ball by the Chilliwack catcher. Jack Weinkauf was Abbotsford’s MVP of the game for his strong pitching striking out 5 out of the 6 batters in the 5thand 6th innings.  Abbotsford’s next game is tonight against Kelowna.
