Sportsmanship and Class

midgetAAMidget AA Report from Head Coach Ray Ebel:

“We had a busy weekend of baseball where we had to win 2 out if the 4 Games. Unfortunately we couldn’t put it together. We played our best baseball in our first game on Saturday beating North Delta 10-0. In our second game we fell short 9-6 with the tying run up to bat in the 7th.

It came down to our final game with Vancouver. It was quite a battle back and forth where we gained a bit of a lead in the 5th. Our left fielder stole an over the fence home run  with a leap at the fence and a subsequent collision. We fell 2 runs behind in the 6th then in the 7th we loaded the bases with 2 outs. We hit a line drive own the third base line where a deep playing third baseman makes a great throw to end our season.

Our bats were coming alive but unfortunately we peaked a little too late in our season to qualify. We ended up 6-6 in a tough league where 9 teams ended up with a .500 or better record.

The Midget AA team are great ambassadors for the Angels Association and the city of Abbotsford. All the coaches are very proud of these young men, they showed great sportsmanship and class. Let’s get a Jr. Men’s program going for these young men.”
