BC 14U Peewee Girls
My name is Stacy Fournier and I am one of the coaches of the peewee girls’ provincial baseball team. I am hoping most of you have heard of this program, especially if you have female players in your league! For those of you who haven’t, we are part of Baseball BC’s female program that sends 4 teams to Canadian championships each summer (14U, 16U, 21U, Open Women’s). I first started with the girls’ program 12 years ago when I first tried out for the Peewee team, and have played almost every year since. This really is an amazing opportunity for girls to continue to play the game they love, while playing at a high level all over the country. Word of mouth has always been the biggest information source, but we do have a website and some contact lists to distribute information. My hope is that through this email I can gather some additional contact information and you can pass this along to your respective division. Even posting on your websites or including these opportunities in your bulletins would be greatly appreciated.
We hold open practices every Monday night at Kensington park in Burnaby and those will continue until the beginning of July. After that, there will be tryouts for the provincial team fromJuly 4-10, and any girl who is currently playing baseball is eligible to attend. Another opportunity will be this coming weekend in Langley where we are holding two practices – Saturday @ 4pmand Sunday @ 10am at City Park – Barbour Field. The majority of the girls will be peewee-aged (11-14) but all ages are welcome to attend to get to know the coaches, the program, and experience an all-female baseball atmosphere.
I want to make sure the word is out there, and if anyone who didn’t know about this program before finds out this way, that would be awesome. I have attached notices for opportunities around the province for girls to get involved, so if you can forward these on to any additional contacts, that would really help to get the word out.
Anyone aged 11-14 can contact me for information regarding the peewee team, and if I can’t answer a question or a player is over 14, I can forward them on to the right person at Baseball BC.

*Both Burnaby (Mondays) and Langley practices are FREE and OPEN to any girls (usually 10+) to attend – no need to sign up anywhere. Although a response about this weekend in Langley would be greatly appreciated if you haven’t already let me know!
