Angels Finish Strong

Abbotsford Angels 9
Coquitlam-Moody 3
Mosquito A

The summer provincial qualifying schedule came to a close for the Angels as they beat CoMo at Lions Park, 9-3.

The team got some outstanding pitching from Trey Gairdner, Lockhart MacGregor and Kian Dobson. Dobby was especially strong, striking out 8 in 3 innings.

The Abby bats started with a bang, as they put 4 runs up in the 1st on the back of a triple from Kaleb Pruden and a double from Jakob Loewen. The offense fizzled through the middle innings, but a Sammy Friess double helped them add another 4 run inning late to secure the victory.

The win puts the Angels at 6 wins against 2 losses. They now wait for the Lower Mainland zone schedule to complete to see where they get seeded heading into the Provincials, scheduled for Victoria at the end of the month.

In the meantime the team heads to Lynden this weekend for a final tune-up tournament at Bender Fields.
