Abby Red Prevail in Defensive Gem
Abby Red 3
Aldergrove 1
Peewee AA Playoff Report: Abby Red had an afternoon to forget last Saturday in Cloverdale. An embarrassing array of defensive gaffes led to an ugly loss to Cloverdale Red. One of the beautiful things about sports is that you get a chance to redeem yourself, often within a short time frame. The boys certainly did that on Tuesday night, playing airtight defense behind a dominant pitching performance from Kayden Beauregard. Highlights included a run saving basket catch by Ethan Lapointe in Center Field, while Carter Harbut made several great plays at 3rd, including starting off a 5-6-3 Double Play with Noah Nickel and Massimo Peranio. At the plate the team did not fare quite as well. While the team was able to load the bases in the 1st, they only came way with one run off of a Massimo sac fly. In the 3rd, Dayton Peters, playing on a bad ankle, doubled to knock in two runs, including what proved to be the winner. Three runs wasn’t much but it was enough. Beauregard would only give up one run to Aldergrove in 6 and 1/3 innings. Harbut closed it out and Abby Red evened their playoff round robin record to 1 & 1.
