Peewee A Angels Perfect
The Abby Angels Peewee A team finished their provincial qualifying season with a win over the Aldergrove Hericanes ( the BC representative girls team) and thus finished the qualifying season with a 7-0 record. Perhaps lacking a little intensity throughout the game, the Abby squad squandered good pitching from Riley Hall, Brady Rempel, Lucas Messer, and Kole Jessamine with some mental errors, but also made enough solid defensive plays to bring it together as they came from behind to win 8-7. Key outs by Brayden Krahn and Hall kept the Hericanes off the scoresheet when it mattered the most. Offensively, triples from Rempel and Marshal Bilinski were key to the Angels win but the offensive hero was Max Masztalar, who was perfect at the plate, hitting 3 for 3. Masztalar finished the game with a walk-off double that banged off the outfield fence and scored the Messer twins – Nicholas and Lucas – to seal the win.
