Pirates Steal Bases, Steal Victory
Pirates 12
Braves 11
Braves 11
The 89th sellout crowd of the year witnessed one of the top nail-bitters of the year between the Braves and the Pirates. It took a full 5 innings for the Pirates to forge ahead of the Braves – as they mounted a 3 run deficit to take the win 12-11. Down by 3 in the bottom of the 5th, the Pirates took to the lumber and tied the game up with the help of the Birthday boy Mattias Meleg. With 2 out, Aiden Thiessen forced a walk and allowed Maguire Wakelyn to steal all the way to 3rd. 2 pitches later, Maguire stole home and the Pirates stole a victory.
Incredibly, after the game, Environmental Researchers were scouring Lions park for evidence of something in the air which led to both teams displaying intermittent sleepiness and semi-consciousness.
