The Nationals and the Mariners advanced to the National League and American League Championship Games with victories on Thursday night. The Nats stormed out to an early lead against the Giants, only to see the Giants claw their way back to within one run. That is as close as they got, however, as the Nationals held on to win, with Mason Gairdner’s Triple proving to be the game winning hit. The Nats will face the Pirates on Saturday to battle for a spot in the Mosquito Cup Championship game on June 15.  The M’s move on to face the Blue Jays in the AL Championship after a 12-7 victory over the Orioles. The O’s and Giants now play for the Mosquito Bowl.  Click here for the full playoff picture.
