Mosquito Cup News: Top Seeds Upset

The Mosquito Cup Playoffs continued yesterday with the American League Semifinals, and both games provided upsets. At Lions Park the Mariners shocked the Yankees with a 13-7 victory. Meanwhile at Grant Park, the Blue Jays edged the #2 Seeded White Sox by a score of 9-7.

With the victories, the M’s and Jays advance to the American League Final on Thursday at Grant Park. Meanwhile the Yankees and White Sox are relegated to the Bowl competition. They will play each other on Wednesday at Grant Park.

Today the National League takes over as the top Seeded Pirates host the Cardinals at Lions Park, while the Expos and the Dodgers square off at Grant Park. Winners will advance to the National League Final on Thursday at Lions, while the losers will have to settle for the NL Bowl at Lions on Wednesday.
