What a beautiful day to start the 2015 Spring season for the Mariners!
With a solid performance from the Yankees battery in the first 2 innings, the Yankees took a 7-3 lead. The Mariners called on Ty Skipper to shut down the side with 2 put outs to first and a strike out. While the Mariners earned 2 runs leaving the score 7-5 for the Yankees.
The fourth inning found a defensive battle with two fine performances from the Yankees and Mariners pitchers keeping the score 8-5.
Tyson Dyck took to the mound the top of the 5th and the Yankees earned another run by a well fought battle between Tyson and Diego eventually knocking in Aiden to take 9-5 lead.
The Mariners were not to be denied as offence kicked in to see all 10 players at the plate. Several un-earned runs later, the Mariners were within striking distance with the bases loaded and the Pita Pit player of the game Logan Van Putten steps up to the plate to round out a 4 for 4 performance and his 3rd double of the day, scoring the final 2 runs to take the victory!
A great start to the season by both teams!The rematch is scheduled for April 16th, 5:45pm at Grant Park.
