Cards Edge Sox
Cardinals 12
Red Sox 11
There was some kind of weird voodoo at Grant Park on Saturday with the double header between the Pirates and Dodgers ending both games with a score of 12-11. It was only a matter of fate that the Cardinals and Red Sox game that followed would end with the same score at the same field on the same day… Three games in a row. The only question was who would win this third 12-11 game.
The Red Sox got off to an exciting start with an excellent double by David Krahn, a two run home run by Kaleb Kent and another great double by Joel Robinson. The Red Sox were further boosted by the excellent play of Caden Dahlen who managed three put outs, a great bunt and a triple of his own.
The Cardinals then decided that they were not going to be out done and managed an exciting come back. The Red Sox were ahead 9-1 going into the bottom of the third when the Cardinals began to launch their exciting comeback headed by a three run homerun by Nick Rabinovitch.
This was followed by more excellent doubles from Garrett Ostrom, Tristan Blair and Sammy Friess. The Cardinals finished with a great pitching duel between Aidan Koetsier and David Krahn which Aidan came out ahead in.
Then the Cardinals continued to bat and run the bases like a well oiled machine with the game ending at the bottom of the 6th. The Cards needed three runs to win and they delivered in dramatic fashion thanks to Garrett Ostrom and Ricki Murchie who were responsible for getting the final runs in!!
