The Bantam AAA Angels had a reasonably successful weekend. At home at Townline Park on Saturday the boys earned two solid wins over Victoria Red, with scores of 12-2 and 10-0 respectively. The Angels got solid contributions from up and down the lineup and on both sides of the ball.
On Sunday the team made the trek out to South Surrey for match up with the White Rock Tritons, the only team to beat them in the Kamloops Tournament. White Rock continued their winning ways in the first game. After going up early, White Rock saw the Angels battle back to tie the game at 5. But a strong finish from the home team saw them take the game 7-5.
In the second half of the double header, the Angels bats came alive earlier and staked the team to a 6-4 victory. With the win the boys moved to 7 wins against 2 losses on the season.
Coach Tim Blake has to be encouraged by the way the team has started the season, but has been clear with his charges that there is much work ahead!
