Angels Stomp Red Deer
Mikey Milne came up big at the dish and on the rubber, leading AAHA ANGELS AAA TIER one MOSQUITO 11U to a 14-5 win over Red Deer on Saturday at Rutland.
Mikey racked up five RBIs on three hits for AAHA ANGELS AAA TIER one MOSQUITO 11U. He tripled in the first inning, doubled in the second inning, and singled in the fourth inning.
Mikey was in control on the hill. Red Deer managed just two hits off of the AAHA ANGELS AAA TIER one MOSQUITO 11U’s pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out four during his 3 2/3 innings of work.
Ten runs in the first three innings helped AAHA ANGELS AAA TIER one MOSQUITO 11U blow out Red Deer. An RBI triple by Mikey, a two-run single by Treyson Smith, and an RBI single by Micah Bucknam during the first inning and a two-run double by Mikey and a two-run double by David Draayers in the second inning helped AAHA ANGELS AAA TIER one MOSQUITO 11U put some runs on the board early.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the second, with four lead changes.
Red Deer jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the top of the first. Red Deer got things going when #30 singled. A single by #29 then moved #30 from first to second. Red Deer added more runs when scored on a walk by #21, scored on a passed ball, and scored on an error.
AAHA ANGELS AAA TIER one MOSQUITO 11U answered Red Deer’s top inning with four runs of its own in the first.
AAHA ANGELS AAA TIER one MOSQUITO 11U added two more runs in the bottom of the third. Jordan Epp kicked things off with a single, bringing home Treyson.
AAHA ANGELS AAA TIER one MOSQUITO 11U tacked on another four runs in the fourth. The inning looked promising, as Mikey singled, scoring Austin Tuckwood and Jayden Burga to kick things off.
