Angels Split at Berry
Abbotsford Angels 11
Kamloops 1
Abbotsford Angels 11
White Rock 12
Peewee AAA
The Angels had mixed results in Peewee AAA action at Berry Park on Sunday. In the first game the boys cruised to an 11-1 mercy rule victory over Kamloops. Luke Szmutko and Parker Wakelyn shared the pitching duties, holding the visitors to just one run. Meanwhile the Abby bats were potent, including doubles from Dayton Peters, Carlin Dick, Conall Sexton and Kevin Kim.
In the second game, the visitors from White Rock showed why they have been near the top of the table all year. It was a see-saw affair, with the teams swapping the lead several times. Things looked promising when the Abby bats came alive in the 6th, with Dayton, Luke and Carlin all delivering big hits. The Angels had the opportunity to close it out in the top of the 7th but White Rock found a way to retake the lead. The Angels went quietly in the bottom of the 7th and took their first loss of the summer season.
