Abby Black Tops Chilliwack
The Abbotsford PeeWee Black Angels topped the Chilliwack Cougars in back-and-forth affair, 9-6!
The Abbotsford Black Angels and Chilliwack Cougars exchanged the lead five times on Tuesday, but the Black Angels ended up on top with a 9-6 win in the season opener over the Cougars.
The Angels jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. A double by Carlin, plating Jack started the inning off. The Angels pushed another run across when Dick scored on a passed ball.
Trey Smith went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for the Angels. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.
The Abbotsford took the lead in the sixth inning and held on for the victory. Abbotsford went up for good on an RBI single by Carlin Dick, bringing home Jack Taylor. Chilliwack Cougars’ lineup had no answer for Carlin as he gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his two innings of work.
Joel Robinson got the win in relief. Joel pitched one inning and allowed one run.
Chilliwack Cougars survived the Abbotsford Black Angels surge and put up three runs of its own in the third. Chilliwack Cougars scored on a two-run double by three and a wild pitch.
Chilliwack Cougars posted one run in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth.
