Mini Mosquitoes Out for Summer

Last weekend both Abby Red and Abby Black, the Angels Mini Mosquito teams, took part in the Cook Tournament at Newton’s Unwin Park.

On Friday Abby Red opened against Cloverdale Red and received a rude welcome to summer ball with a 10-4 loss.  The boys responded well and came out far more ready to play on Saturday, defeating Surrey 15-5 in a mercy rule win. The boys also played hard in their 3rd game, and despite losing 15-11 to North Delta, the coaches were pleased with the effort. The team was disappointed not to make it to the semifinals, but came out on Sunday with a game attitude and a determined effort. This paid off late, as the boys came from behind in the final inning. Down by 3, they rallied to win 14-13 over Vancouver.
